NDDC Distributes Boats To Flood Victims in Riverine Communities of Cross River

  The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has delivered over thirty (30) pieces of Boats across the Riverine Communities in Cross River State. 3 Years After Passing, Former Nigerian Senate President Wayas Set for Honourable Burial in Cross River State

  The long-awaited burial of Nigeria’s former Senate President, Dr. Joseph Wayas, will take place on November 30, 2024, in his hometown of Bassang, Obanliku Local Government Area, Cross River State. Dr. Wayas, a respected leader and prominent figure from Nigeria’s Second Republic, passed away on November 30, 2021, in the United Kingdom while receiving medical treatment. However, due to various complications, his remains could not be returned to Nigeria until July 2024, nearly three years later. In a press briefing at the Ernest Etim Bassey Press Centre, Calabar, Dr. DornCklaimz Enamhe, Secretary of the Central Planning Committee and Convener of the ‘Who is Who in Northern Cross River Forum,’ confirmed the burial arrangements. Takim Achu Dynasty Celebrates Late Patriarch's Silver Jubilee

The Takim Achu Dynasty of Bendeghe-Ekiem community in Etung local government area of Cross River state has honoured the remarkable legacy of their late patriarch, Pa Takim Achu, with a Silver Jubilee celebration, commemorating 25 years since his passing. The late sage's pioneering effort in the education of the later generations particularly in the old Ikom, his starting of the Primary School Ekimkae in his own compound and subsequent donation of land for the school's permanent site, as well as his philanthropic disposition, earned Pa Achu, popularly known as 'The Centurion,' a place in the pantheons of Elite Educationists in the region and beyond.
