Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu is among the delegation of Ministers and other top government functionaries led by President Bola Tinubu participating in the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). This will be her first as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Dr Betta Edu is expected to play an expertise role and deliver recommendations on the global Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) measures on poverty reduction and provides information for policymaking which assesses poverty in various aspects of people’s daily lives, such as education, health, housing, and access to basic amenities to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of people who are still facing crises.
