Unicross Congratulates Enoh, Lauds Otu For Appointing Ex-VC As SSG University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) Alumni Association has congratulated former Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Anthony Owan Enoh on his appointment as Secretary to the State Government, (SSG). CR ASSEMBLY APPROVES 40 SPECIAL ADVISERS FOR GOV OTU

By Itam Offor The Cross River State House of Assembly has granted consequential approval to the State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Otu to appoint forty (40) Special Advisers. The approval was granted after the House deliberated on a letter where the Governor stated that the request was in line with the provisions of Section 196(1) of the 1999 Constitution as ammended adding that the Special Advisers are to assist him in the performance of his official functions. The Lawmakers noted that the new Governor needs to appoint people of integrity who will assist him deliver his campaign promises to Cross Riverians. They further congratulated the Governor on his assumption of office and wished him well in his new assignment.

Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Banku Obi, says her administration will always sustain the fight against gender-based violence in the institution. Prof. Obi stated this when officials of the International Society of Media in Public Health (ISMPH), led by the Executive Director, paid an advocacy visit to her in her office. She said Unical has been at the forefront of the fight against gender-based violence and will leave nothing to chance in its avowed determination to stamp out the menace. DG facilitates scholarships for Cross Riverians, ignores faultfinder

The DG Cross River State Scholarship Board Nuella Tessy Anyin says it has facilitated over 200 scholarships for young Cross Riverians. DG disclosed this on Sunday while presenting her scorecard to journalists in Calabar, Cross River State. According to her, within 3 years, the board has sent 200 students abroad on scholarship through PTDF, NDDC etc without collecting a kobo. She noted that the state scholarship was approved by His Excellency Prof. Ben Ayade and the only setback it suffered was the non-release of funds by the said government.
