Cross River State Ministry Of Health gets Grant From The Global Fund Resilient And Sustainable Systems For Health

  It's on record that the Cross River State Health Sector under the watch of Dr Betta Edu in Governor Ben Ayade’s Administration has recorded outstanding achievements and stands as one of the States that has made giant strides in key health programs implementation, this hard work hasn't gone unnoticed as today the State has been selected yet again amongst the Three States to be supported in Nigeria by this grant which is to commence in September  2021. The 2021 through 2023 Global Fund Resilient and Sustainable System for Health (RSSH) Grants which CRS has been selected has the National Agency for the Control of Aids (NACA) as the Principal Recipient (PR) and the NPHCDA as one of the Four sub-Recipients. Speaker condemns kidnap of former Council Chairman, Urge Police on Quick Response

  The Speaker, Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Eteng Jonah Williams, has condemned in very strong terms, the abduction of a two termed former Council Chairman of Yakurr Local Government Area, Chief Ubi Itam Etta from his business premises in Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State.  In a statement issued by his media aide, Hope Obeten, the Speaker described as barbaric, callous and ruthless the action of the kidnappers, wondering what they intend to achieve from putting an elder statesman who has dedicated his life to the service of the people and humanity through such an excruciating pain. Guru Foundation Commends Unical VC on Zero Tolerance to Sorting,Other Vices

  Guru foundation has lauded Prof Florence Obi, Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar for showing courage in stamping out all forms of mechanically orchestrated marks and other vices across the university. In a letter to the Vice Chancellor dated 13th August 2021, Comrade Oyo Effiom, founder of the group said that the foundation is impressed that the administration is taking concrete steps to sanitize the system and ensure that moral rectitude reigns in the university. According to Guru Foundation, "as the biggest community for ambitious young people in Cross River state, we are optimistic that actions in this direction will make the citadel of learning a global university that will compete with other top universities across the world ". Recalled that the Vice Chancellor has put  modalities in place to ensure that sorting and other vices that bring shame to the university are eradicate  through a sincere commitment to change the narrative.

UNICAL VC play host to members of Calabar Sport Commission

   The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Banku Obi, has played host to members of Calabar sports club-1898 in her office while on a courtesy visit to her. Prof. Obi said the visit of the club is of immense benefits to her administration, owing to the fact that the institution intends to partner with clubs to improve the sporting standard of the institution’s Directorate of Sports. She said her administration holds the Club on a very high esteem, believing that sports plays essential role in improving the mental wellbeing of groups and individuals. Speaking during the event, the President of the club, Mr Isa Yusuf(JP), expressed joy over the appointment of Prof. Obi as the 11th Vice Chancellor and the first female of the University of Calabar. Mr Yusuf said the visit was to identify with one of their astute member and Vice-Chancellor with a view to contribute to her lofty dreams with the aim of adding value to the sporting live of the institution.
