More than 5000 PDP members defects to APC in Ward 5 Calabar Municipal

The Cross River State  Commissioner of Tourism, Hon Eric Iso Anderson on Wednesday defected with over 5000 People's Democratic Party (PDP) Members and all appointees of the Government to All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ward 5, the seat of government in Grand style.   The event which attracted party stalwarts from Calabar Municipality and across the state was witness by the Commissioner of Urban Renewal and Development, Hon Emmanuel Edward,  Mayor of Calabar, Hon. Effefiong Nta Eke and the APC  Local Government Caucus Leader, Ntufam Omin Iso and Technical Assistant to the Vice President, Mr Philip Obin. Leaders of Ewen polling unit in Ito/Idere/Ukwa Ward at Odukpani Local Government Area formally received Elder Emmanuel Ayara back to All Progressive Congress (APC). Elder Emmanuel Ayara was one of the founding members of APC in Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State. During his speech, he used the occasion to thanked the Governor of Cross River State - His Excellency Senator Prof Ben Ayade for his good works and applauded also the Executive Chairman of Odukpani Local Government Hon. Justina Edem and her Vice for an excellent performance in just one year in office. National Dialogue to end mother to Child transmission of HIV in Nigeria, the need to achieve Epidemic Control and bring transmission to zero

Key stakeholders in the health sector met in Abuja to deliberate on viable ways to reduce the transmission of HIV AIDS from mother to child. In Nigeria there is urgent need to achieve HIV epidemic control. One of every 7 children infected in the world is in Nigeria and 2/3 will not receive treatment. 90% of HIV new cases are due to mother to child transmission of HIV. This is so because of the low delivery by skilled birth attendants which is about 43%. In about 8 million pregnancies in a year, 6 million do not use Antenatal Care Services or deliver with skilled birth attendants this has made the number of babies born with HIV to be on the increase. A Bye Law To Make Provision for the Malnourished Child In Yakurr LGA & For Other Matters Connected Therewith

  The Yakurr LGA has recorded a milestone in the fight against malnutrition and malnourishment and other hunger related diseases.  A Bye Law was sponsored by Hon Usang Eteng Mbang, the Member representing the people of Ukpawen/Nkpolo Ward, who also is the Leader of the Yakurr Legislative Council.
