CRS first Lady assures of Continues Support to NYSC Cross River

   The wife of  the Executive Governor of Cross River State Bishop Mrs Eyoawan  Bassey Edet Otu has reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in its efforts to achieve its objectives in Cross River State.  The first Lady  made this known when he received in audience the  State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Oyenuga Mojisola Joke in her office in Calabar. In welcoming Mrs. Oyenuga to her new role, Bishop Mrs Eyoawan Bassey Edet emphasized the state government's dedication to strengthening its partnership with the NYSC to combat social vices, noting that the current administration is focused on the emancipation and empowerment of youth, regardless of their background. "It’s Your Right to Access Information Freely," Says FOI Schedule Officer

  The Freedom of Information (FOI) Schedule Officer for the NYSC Cross River State Vanguard, Comrade Ogban Ogban, has urged corps members to fully utilize the platform provided by the FOI Act, which allows citizens to access information from public office holders without hindrance. Comrade Ogban made this call during his sensitization lecture at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Obubra, for the 2024 Batch C Stream 1 corps members deployed to the state. He emphasized that the FOI Act not only applies to public institutions but also extends to entities using public funds. The Act grants individuals, groups, associations, and organizations the right to request information from government agencies, parastatals, and both private and public sector organizations that provide public services. Comrade Ogban further explained that the FOI Act is rooted in the principle of openness, placing the onus on those who seek to withhold public information from the public.

Governor Otu Vows total Renovation of NYSC Orientation Camp in Cross River State

The Governor of Cross River State, Prince Bassey Otu, promised to change the face of the Orientation camp with total renovation project for the better of Corps members deployed to the State.  He made this promise during the swearing in ceremony of the 2024 Batch C stream 1 Corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Obubra Cross River State.  The Governor gave this cheering news through his Commissioner for youths Development, Barr Ijom Ukam who had earlier carried out a thorough camp inspection to access the extent of dilapidated nature of the camp facilities. NPA Hails NYSC as Nigeria's Best Conceived Vision

  The Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA has lauded the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC as one of the most visionary initiatives in Nigeria's history. NYSC Brings Free Medical Care to C'River Community

  The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC Cross River State has taken its Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers, HIRD program to Neta Clan in Esuk-Otu community, providing free medical services to residents. In her remarks, State Coordinator, Mrs. Oyenuga Joke, commended the villagers for their turnout and urged them to cooperate with the medical team.   On October 23, 2024, the Freedom of Information Community Development Service, FOI CDS, Calabar, took its awareness campaign to the Basin Development Center community today, emphasizing the transformative power of the Freedom of Information Act, FOIA. JOIN IN THE AFFAIRS OF NATION BUILDING, MRS OYENUGA CHARGES PASSING OUT CORPS MEMBERS IN CRS

NYSC Cross River state passed out a total of 650 corps members for the 2023 Batch C stream 1 Corps members deployed to the state for their one year compulsory National service. Speaking at the occasion, the state Coordinator NYSC Cross River State, Mrs Oyenuga joke charged the corps members to join hands in the affairs of nation building as they go into the larger part of the society. She made this remarks during the low key passing out parade at the calabar municipal zonal office in cross River State. She appreciaited God for the safety of corps members throughout the service year. CDS GROUPS IN CROSS RIVER STATE CARRIES OUT NUMEROUS PROJECTS FOR HUMANITY

Community Development Service(CDS) being one of the cardinal programmes of NYSC has offered Corps members the opportunity to impact on their host communities through various CDS projects be it personal or group  Projects . In Cross River State, corps members carried out felt need Project for the betterment of the host communities and humanity. The Freedom of Information CDS Group (FOI) gave the the NYSC Secretariat a new look by Constructing a 20 feet tall directional sign post to welcome corps members, staff and other visitors to the Secretariat complex. Football CDS on the hand , donated sports items to the NYSC to aide the corps members in the CDS as they prepare for NYSC annual Sports and Cultural festival.   The 13 Brigade Commander of the Nigerian Army, Calabar, Commander M O Ibrahim, stated that the benefits of NYSC to the Nation can never be overemphasized owing to her immense contribution to nation building. The Commander made this statement  in his office while playing host to the  NYSC State Coordinator Cross River State, Mrs Oyenuga Mojisola Joke, during her courtesy visit. Niko Adeleke Donates ₦10 Million, Food Supplies to NYSC Members in Osun State

  In a heartwarming gesture, Niko Adeleke, cousin to Nigerian music star Davido, recently visited the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Osun State, where she donated ₦10 million to the corps members. Alongside the monetary donation, Adeleke also provided 40 bags of rice and four cows to ensure that the corps members enjoy hearty meals during their service period. She further promised to revisit the camp in the near future to check on the progress and well-being of the corps members. This act of kindness has garnered praise, with many applauding the Adeleke family for their continued support of the less privileged. NYSC Coordinator Urges Corps Members to Promote Cultural Heritage at 2024 Batch B Stream 2 Carnival in Cross River State

The state Coordinator of NYSC Cross River State, Mrs Oyenuga joke while declaring open the carnival celebration for the 2024 Batch B stream 2 Orientation Course at the NYSC permanent Orientation camp, Obubra Cross River State, with the title "OUR CULTURE OUR WAY OF LIFE", charged the corps members to always promote our rich cultural heritage as way of life. Mrs Oyenuga stated that Nigeria stands tall in the world with beautiful culture of elegance and glamour, therefore admonished the corps members to respect the culture of the land and used the carnival celebration as an avenue to promote National unity and integration amongst the youths across ethnic lines. Camp officials and corps members dressed in their various beautiful attires to celebrate the occasion as camp is gradually coming to an end. Ten platoons participated in the competition, at the end of the carnival celebration platoon 8 emerged overall winner while platoon 10 and 1 came second and third respectively.
