The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC Cross River State has taken its Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers, HIRD program to Neta Clan in Esuk-Otu community, providing free medical services to residents.
In her remarks, State Coordinator, Mrs. Oyenuga Joke, commended the villagers for their turnout and urged them to cooperate with the medical team. "The HIRD program is one of NYSC's ways of giving back to society," she said. "We are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of rural dwellers, and we believe this initiative will go a long way in achieving that goal. Our Corps Members are dedicated to serving the community, and this program is a testament to their hard work and dedication."
Mrs. Joke further emphasized, "As part of our mandate, we aim to bridge the healthcare gap in rural areas. Today's event demonstrates our resolve to reach underserved communities and provide essential medical care. We will continue to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure sustainable healthcare delivery."
Clan Head Chief Ntufan Maurice Omin Iso praised NYSC for the life-saving initiative, promising to always speak positively about the scheme. "NYSC has consistently demonstrated its commitment to our community's development," he said.
Beneficiaries also expressed gratitude for the free medical services and appealed to NYSC to sustain the program.
