Cross River Sanitation Exercise: Ibok Street Triumphs as Cleanest Street, Wins Governor's Cash Prize
The Commissioner of Environment, Hon. Moses Osogi, commends Cross River State residents for their participation in the monthly sanitation exercise.
During the inspection led by the Commissioner, it was noted that the turnout surpassed previous months, signifying progress in restoring the state's cleanliness.
Highlighting the gradual process of improvement, the Commissioner emphasized the importance of sustained efforts.
Ibok Street was recognized as the best for April and will receive a cash award of one hundred thousand naira from the governor.
The cash award was presented to Mr. Okon Michael, the youth leader of Ibok Street, with a plea for peaceful sharing among residents.
Expressing gratitude, Okon pledged continued support for the government and urged action on flood control in Ibok Street.
The Commissioner noted residents' efforts in maintaining drainage, which will help mitigate flooding.
The inspection covered areas from Big Qua to Ikot Omini 8 miles of Calabar.
