Education Minister commissions TETFUND projects in Unical


....As Prof. Florence Banku Obi solicits more funds



The Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman has commissioned 6 newly completed projects at the University of Calabar.



During the commissioning, Mamman said he was thrilled by the University’s prudent management of resources.


The project’s commissioning, which climaxed the University’s 2024 convocation ceremonies, was performed on behalf of President Bola Tinubu by the Minister of Education, Tahir Mamman alongside the Executive Secretary of NUC, TETFUND representatives and others. 


In a brief interview with Journalists, the Minister noted that he was very impressed to see projects completed and facilities available for students and used to support academic activities.


The Prof. charged the staff and students to use the facilities responsibly and ensure they are kept clean at all times.


Also in an interview, Vice Chancellor Prof. Florence Banku Obi lauded the President of the Federal Republic ably represented by the Minister of Education. 


Obi pleaded for more funds from the Federal Government and TETFUND to enable the University to carry out more projects and complete the ongoing ones. 


The commissioned projects include three pavilions, two hotels, and the Department of Mass Communication.

C'River State sets aside Jan 27 for Environmental Sanitation Exercise

The Cross River State Government has announced Saturday, January 27, 2024, between the hours of 7 am and 10 am as a day for environmental sanitation exercises across the state. The release signed by the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Environment, Hon. Moses Osogi stipulates that movement of people and vehicles during the period shall be restricted except for those on essential duties.  He urged business owners and residents to partake in the cleaning and evacuation of waste around their surroundings during the hours of sanitation.  The release noted that defaulters shall be charged and tried by Cross River State Mobile Court.  Remember, a clean environment is everyone's business, together let's keep Cross River State Clean, green and serene.
