C'River State sets aside Jan 27 for Environmental Sanitation Exercise

The Cross River State Government has announced Saturday, January 27, 2024, between the hours of 7 am and 10 am as a day for environmental sanitation exercises across the state. The release signed by the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Environment, Hon. Moses Osogi stipulates that movement of people and vehicles during the period shall be restricted except for those on essential duties.  He urged business owners and residents to partake in the cleaning and evacuation of waste around their surroundings during the hours of sanitation.  The release noted that defaulters shall be charged and tried by Cross River State Mobile Court.  Remember, a clean environment is everyone's business, together let's keep Cross River State Clean, green and serene.

UNICAL VC EXTENDS APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR OF AUDIT

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Obi has approved the extension of the appointment of the institution's Director of Audit, Mr. Nicholas Agbo. A letter signed by the University Registrar, Mr Gabriel Egbe indicates that the extension which is for one year is to take effect from 12th January 2024 to 11th January 2025. Mr. Agbo's extension of appointment, according to the letter, is given, following his satisfactory performance as the Director of Audit and the need for him to be on the ground to complete the ongoing personnel audit ordered by the Federal Ministry of Education. The Vice-Chancellor, as contained in the letter, charged Mr Agbor to continue to discharge his duties credibly by bringing his wealth of experience to bear in any duty assigned to him as director.

Nigerians calls for Betta Edu's Reinstatement

The National Executive Council (NEC) of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) Alumni Association in her meeting held on 10th January 2024 approved the appointment of members into the Board of Trustees (BOT) and Advisory Council of the Association. We have been abandoned by our Governments — Lebang-Lokpoi rural dwellers cry out

The deplorable condition of roads in Lebang-Lokpoi is very pitiable. Besides the bad roads, no electricity other facilities such as health centers do not exist at all.  Many lives have been lost because of the state of our roads.  The people of Lebang-Lokpoi live in penury, they need an improved life and they are crying out for help from the governor Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu.  The bad condition of the roads in these communities has made the people not to be able to transport their businesses to the Mkpani community due to the deplorable condition.
