Environmental decadence; Hon. Osogi says Working visit to Abuja is an holistic approach in seeking intervention

Reaffirming the Ministry of Environment mandate in restoring the state's 'clean and green ' status, the Cross River State Commissioner for Environment Hon. Moses Osogi has expressed deep concerns over the high rate of environmental decadence in the state capital.


Speaking to newsmen at Abuja at the wrap up of  his working visit to cluster MDA'S, Commissioner Osogi expressed optimism  that  his working visit to Abuja would generate enabling platform to tackle Environmental menace.


Disclosing the reason behind the visit,  the Commissioner for Environment revealed that he was committed to securing a habitable environment free of nauisance, he maintained that upon his interface with relavant stakeholders in the environment sector, assurances were given to his ministry and fruits of collaborations would soon be dividend  with the ultimate goal of ensuring that  a healthier Environment is obtainable in Cross River State.


Stressing the need to actualize a safer environment  fit for habitation, The environment boss narrated that his visit to the the Permanent Secretary Ecological Project Office, Director General National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement (NESREA) and also that of the Director General National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA) were necessitated by the need to form a stronger synergy and seek intervention to the decadence on Environmental standards in the state.


He promised to  add value and actively participate in Environment activities that would benefit CrossRiverians , while requesting  that  cluster bodies keep their doors open for assistance whenever the need arises.


Excitedly, Commissioner Osogi disclosed that the Permanent Secretary Ecological Project Office Malam Shehu Ibrahim, Director General NESREA Prof. Aliyu Jauro as well as the Director General/CEO NOSDRA Mr. Idris Musa gave their esteemed assurances in hightening collaborative effort and forming a stronger synergy with his ministry.


Speaking further, Commissioner Osogi  disclosed that, reorientation on social behavioral change  towards sanitation and general hygiene are on going in the media, he posited that soon Cross River State would regain it's lost glory adding that the cleanines culture is gradually returning back to the state through the continuous efforts of his ministry.


 The visit featured presentation of award of recognition and excellence to the chief Executives as well as group photograph.


The Commissioner was accompanied by the Director of Administration Ministry of Environment, Barr. John Odu,  Consultants of the ministry Hon. Ekuma Ngwu and Dr. Ekpo Ndifreke.
