Lauretta Onochie Disowns 15 Billion Dollars MOU, declares it Null and Void The Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has described the purported signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between a US firm, “Atlanta Global Resources Inc.” and the NDDC for the construction of a mega rail project across the Niger Delta, from Lagos to Calabar as a scam. The NDDC Boss Lauretta Onochie in a statement last week made available to Journalists disowned the publication in some National dailies of such contract and “this was done without my knowledge and the authorization or consent of the Board and NDDC has not and could not have signed an MOU, worth $15 billion (USD) without the Board and Federal Executive Council’s (FEC) approval. The so-called MOU signed with Atlanta Global Resources Inc. “AGRI”, is hereby disowned by the Board and declared null and void”. The Youth Council of Nigeria Cross River State, on Thursday, visit the husband of the Late Hon. Chief (Mrs) Esther Bassey. The group which consists of State Chairman and all local government coordinators of NYCN in the Southern Senatorial District was at Bassey’s residence to visit his family over the death of his wife, the late Esther Bassey, Queen of the South. The State Chairman, His Youthfulness Daniel Obo, led other members of the NYCN to condole with the family. Late Hon. Esther Bassey, died on Friday, February 24, 2023, at the age of 50. The deceased was a philanthropist and Calabar South Local Government Chairperson until her death. Recall, the Governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade, had on April 26, 2023, led delegations of Government officials from the state to the home of the Late Esther Bassey.
