Governor-Elecr, Sen. Bassey Otu Meets UN Representative, Seeks Collaboration In Key Areas For Cross River
Barely a day after he was declared winner of the March 18th governorship election in Cross River State, Sen. (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu today met with the United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Mr. Matthias Schmale.
Receiving Mr. Schmale in Calabar, the governor-elect, Sen. Bassey Otu promised to partner with the international community to open up opportunities and better the lives of Cross Riverians.
Sen. Otu expressed delight over the visit, describing his discusion with the team as very fruitful. He highlighted agriculture, rural development among others as key areas of interest for collaboration.
Also speaking, the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Mr. Matthias Schmale congratulated the Governor-elect on his victory at the polls and expressed readiness to work with the incoming administration to address the issues of rural development, agriculture and others.
