The award which is to encourage state governments, health agencies, and the private sector to support Immunization in their respective states is being supervised by a team of a private and in-corruptible panel of judges using various variances yearly.

This year's award comes with some prestige as Cross River State did not only emerge best-performing state in the covid-19 S.C.A.L.E 1.0 exercise but also emerged as the best performing in the S.C.A.L.E 2.0 and is currently in a good position for the latest launched S.CA.L.E 3.0

Some of the yardsticks for assessment Includes Immunization compliance, accurate vaccination records, vaccine storage, potency check, hard-to-reach areas coverage, outreach, special intervention strategies, and partnerships with supportive agencies, ministries, and parastatals among others.

Reacting to the nomination, Director General of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Janet Ekpenyong described Senator Ayade as a "brainbox and galvanizing force" towards the nation's achievement of Universal Health Coverage owing to his Innovative drives in advancing quality and affordable health for all.

She eulogies him and his dear wife Dr. Linda Ayade as the force behind all the successes recorded in the health sector in the last 7 years.

She acknowledged His Excellency,  the Deputy Governor of Cross River State and Chairman Task team on Immunization,  Professor Ivara Esu for his support and guidance while thanking the state health team and partners who have over the years assisted the state.

She appreciated and praised the health workers who are the foot soldiers, ensuring mobilization, coverage, and institutionalization of health services, especially in hard-to-reach areas in all 18 Local Government Areas of the state.

"Our case is the most peculiar in the South-South region, there are Communities in the valleys, others in the hills, and some others sharing both characteristics, we are proud of our health workers and the sacrifices they make in achieving 100 percent coverage in these areas.

We appreciate the efforts of the state Governor, Senator Ben Ayade, and the great partnership with the Office of the Wife of the Governor through the Mediatrix Development foundation in the numerous innovations introduced into our health system which has seen us achieve back-to-back success in all health innovations in the region and the entire country as a whole.

I also appreciate the father of Immunization,  His Excellency, Prof Ivara Esu who is the  Chairman of the state Task team on Immunization.

We will continue to do our best for the benefit of our people.

Congratulations Your Excellency".
