Eno Ikwen declares for House of Reps, unveils manifesto

Former Assistant Chief Meteorologist, Mr.Eno Ikwen on Wednesday formally declared his intention to represent the Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.



 Ikwen assured his constituents of quality and effective representation if elected to represent Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency in the lower chamber of the National Assembly.


He declared his intention before APC leaders and members, women, stakeholders, friends, and associates, who attended his declaration at the Chinese restaurant State Housing, Calabar.


Addressing the people, Ikwen said the 6-point manifesto anchor on skill building, peace building, rural electricity, education, cross river dreams, and purposeful leadership.


He stressed that he is propelled by the overwhelming conviction that our dear country deserved a re-oriented and more focused representation at the National Assembly and leadership at all levels, in terms of stronger institutions to secure the country, create jobs for our increasing youth population, set the path for growth and progress and lead us into a prosperous country.


"Today I present myself as a New breed with experiences in the civil service and I have realized that God has prepared me for this moment.


 The House of Representatives aspirant listed some potential bills such as A bill to create Nigeria's first brain bank village across the 6 geopolitical zones, a bill to degeneralize subsidies and give subsidies to the poor and farmers to encourage food production, bill to enable internal security agents to bear light and concealable arms, a bill to pursue the proper resettlement of indigenous people of Bakassi, bill to develop a comprehensive moral code, the bill for the death penalty for rapist and corrupt government officials, a bill to slash 50% tuition for female students, a bill to temporarily discontinue the further establishment of Universities and focus on building highly equipped vocational training centers and bill for proper police reform.


Speaking at the event, APC leaders in his ward expressed their support for Eno Ikwen's candidacy. They added that they are confident that the House of Representatives aspirant will be a good representative of Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency if elected.
