Dr Ekpenyong Applauds Bekwarra for Huge Investment in the Health Sector, Described Commitment as "Impactful"
The leadership of Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State have been applauded for their unequivocal support towards building a robust health sector and it's partnership with the state government towards the actualization of Universal Health Coverage.
Director General of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Janet Ekpenyong made the commendation in Calabar while reacting to numerous health interventions recently undertaken by the Area Council promoting good health among it's people.
Dr Ekpenyong said, with collaborations with other stakeholders especially Local Government Areas, the health sector will experience huge upgrade and wider acceptability by locals which will in turn promote better living.
She thanked the Chairman of Council , Dr Josephat Owan and his Wife , Mrs( Lulu freda) for prioritizing health and keying into Senator Ben Ayade's mandate on full and total health for all without experiencing financial hardships.
"His Excellency, the State Governor and His Wife have shown very huge passion and commitment in the Health sector by supporting various programs and interventions which are not only beneficial to the elite, but whose impacts are felt in all Communities across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state, this is exactly the platform in which the Chairman of Bekwarra Local Government Area and His Wife are riding on to provide qualitative and enviable health packages to their subjects.
Recently in some of our health interventions and programs, Bekwarra Local Government Area has emerged top performing and there's no doubt that, the encouragement and support from the Council executive has been of a great motivation to our staff in order to offer selfless services to their people" .
The Council Boss and his wife had recently on December 1st 2021 marked the World AIDS Day visiting different Primary Healthcare Centres across the 10 wards of the LGA distributing drugs, toiletries and other materials to caution the effects of hardship faced by patients in these facilities.
