Ex Cross River Immigration Comptroller,Adeuyi Mourns Boss

The Deputy Comptroller General of Immigration and Former Comptroller of  Cross River State,Funke Adeuyi (Retd) has described the death of her former Boss and the Deputy Comptroller General of Immigration,J.O Olaitan as a monumental loss and a vacuum that will be hard to fill.

Adeuyi in a tribute to the late DCG,said My very dear Boss,

It is with tears and sadness that I write this tribute on my former boss- late J.O Olaitan mni (DCG) retd when I thought I had gotten a dependable, resourceful senior colleague and trusted ally to relate with even in my retirement because of your larger than life personality.

" My first contact with you was in 2011/2012 where I served as a unit head while you were the Comptroller of the Oyo State Command Nigeria Immigration Service, Ibadan. With you then were other great  seniors and colleagues like Jane Urebvu, Justina Amadu, Abdullahi Idiaro, Yarima Bako,  Abimbola-Ojo, Virginia Oyedeji, Oche,Makun and others. You created rapport by calling us our first names.

"You lectured us all on how to prepare for retirement while still in Service.

"Your positive vibes and aura drew me closer to you because I saw in you an oasis where one could continuously draw knowledge from to enrich my life as a career officer. We called you Professor and O/C red pen because our official draft memos to you were copiously corrected with love and humility.

While eulogising the late Deputy Comptroller General of Immigration,Adeuyi explained that:

"No wonder l became a better person professionally ever since till l penned down from the Service. I thank God that your continuous prayer for me to become a Deputy Comptroller General came to reality not too long before your passing and you shared in my Joy.

We bonded more when l realized the God given talents and wisdom in you - my late boss ’’the wise man from Ilora’’.

"You were a responsible family man, God fearing and a good man(as I usually told your daughter sade(mine own daughter too).A kind hearted, passionate and committed person who was always very careful about life.

Commending his selfless service to Nigeria ,she said "You criss- crossed the length and breadth of Nigeria to rejoice and mourn with friends , family and colleagues despite the challenging Nigeria terrain and insecurity even in your retirement to make loved ones happy without bias for creed, status, rank or religion .

" You were an ever ready Chairman at any occasion, handsomely dressed in your ‘’Omoluabi agbada and Fila’’ . Only God knows where you got that strength to do all that till death.

"You taught me how to keep my peace  and how not to hold anything against anyone even in the face of betrayal, intimidation and humiliation. You were a rare gem!You had peace of mind and pursed peace with all men as the Bible taught us in Hebrews 12:14.

"No wonder you always looked calm, joyful and harmless till death.

You mentored me to be strong willed and savvy professionally.  Your ears always opened to hear me out 24/7. I never imagined you will leave us so soon but God knows best.

"My consolation is that you are in a better place where there is no more sorrow, pain, grief and death(Rev 21:4)I pray that God will give your family, friends, colleagues, wife and children the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Rest In Peace my mentor and confidant.

Rest In Peace my ‘’Professor -the Vice Chancellor  of University of Ilora‘’,- as I used to hail you whenever we gisted.

Adieu the doyen and pride of Olaitan dynasty and the Big Nigeria Immigration Family. She added in the tribute.
