Ayade Surrenders concession power to citizens to decide control of state-owned industries

The Ayade led administration is set to privatize 46 state own industries.

This was made public today at the press briefing organized by the Cross River State Privatization Council.

The Chairman Mr. John Odo during the briefing noted that the state Governor was eager on strengthening his industrialization dream in the state.



Obo opined that the determination to privatize the industries was because the state government intends to register more successes and in continuation to keep to his promise of providing food on the table and in a wider range to employ Cross Riverians, which is part of democracy dividend for inclusive governance where the people come first.

The Chairman of the privatization listed the following industries which include; Garment Factory Calabar, CRS Pharmaceutical Factory Calabar, Instant Noodles Factory, Feed Mill Calabar, Frozen Chicken Factory Calabar, Rise Seedlings Factory Calabar, MegaWatt Power Plant Calabar, Poultry Farm Calabar, Tooth Pick Factory Yakurr, Pyle and Pylon Factory Akamkpa, Industrial Starch Factory Obubra, Cocoa Processing Factory Ikom, Rice Mill Factory Ogoja, British Canadian School Obudu, Obudu International Airport, Cross River Airline Company (CALLY AIR), Organic Fertilizer Factory Calabar, Tinapa Resort Calabar,  Marina Tank Farm Calabar, Marina Resort Calabar, Calapharm, Songhai Farm Itigidi,  Referral Specialist Hospital Obudu, Groundnut Oil Factory in Yala and a host of others.

Obo urged all Cross Riverians to participate in either accepting or reject the proposal from the government.

Also in the briefing the Commissioner of Industry Mr. Peter Egba urged Cross Riverians to key into the idea and participate while adding that our people would benefit in terms of employment opportunities.



In the same vein, Commissioner of Commerce Pst. Rosemary Archibong on her side said Ayade knew that businesses could do better in the hands of private sectors while adding that investors are waiting to take over, with the majority of people outside the country. And we are considering Cross Riverians first, she added.



In the order, the Chairman of chairmen, Hon. Emmanuel Bassey, who spoke the minds of his colleagues opined that Ayade is a blessing to the state and plead that Cross Riverians should support the proposal while believing that the state is about to become a business hub of Nigeria and in the entire gulf of guinea.



In Conclusion, the capacity Commissioner of Health Dr. Betta Edu noted that for emphasis seek all Cross Riverians should key into the initiative through the referendum to either vote and accept or reject the proposal.

Edu urged Cross Riverians to visit www.crspc.org or get the form from their various local government areas, adding that voting online, would last for a week and the one at the local government would last for three days.
