The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Banku Obi, has commissioned the Information and Communication Technology Centre at the Faculty of Education in the institution.
The Vice-Chancellor who unveiled the Centre in a brief colourful event at the Faculty, said that the objective was to align the students with technology and digitization that is needed in the 21st century.
Prof. Obi stated that the students really needs and ICT room to aid them in research and reading.
She congratulated the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Mrs Cecilia Ekwueme, for working tirelessly with other staff of the Faculty in bringing the centre to function at optimal capacity.
The VC, who stressed the importance of students in acquire ICT skills, noted that the new age of technology has immense benefits for those who are computer literate.
The ICT Centre is equipped with an inverter and all the computers are re-activated to a Local Area Network for student's use at all times.
Inclusive in the ICT room is a projector and a white board for teaching.
