The Director General of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency has promised the Nigerian Medical Association of her support towards the hosting of its Annual Medical week aimed at raising awareness on common diseases and it's management.
The DG stated this in her office during a courtesy visit led by the chairman of the planning committee on Tuesday, July 27th 2021 as the union seek for a wider coverage and optimization of its plans.
Dr Ekpenyong noted that, the Nigerian Medical Association Cross River State chapter have continued to promote effective medical coverage noting that it's collaboration with the government for the years have helped in strengthening the state health system and exposed the novelty of the profession.
She applauded the union for the choice of this year's theme ," Emerging Trends Influencing Health Care Delivery in Nigeria", noting that cautioning the drift in the medical profession by some praticionals has become neccesary especially in the era of pandemic where optimal delivery is expected from professionals.
She promised the team her full support to ensure that the aim of the week long event is actualized.
Speaking during the visit, members of the planning committee, Dr Amaku and Dr Bisong said the association was closing ranks to ensure that Cross Riverians enjoy the best of health services hence the need to bring professionals from both the private and public sector to delibrate on ways of collectively enhancing the system.
The group seek to dialogue with operators in the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary as well as private clinics to rate challenges and ways of compassing them.
The Cross River State Chapter of the Nigeria Medica Association week is scheduled for August 9th through the 13th with lots of interesting highlights including talk shows, seminar, games and award/dinner night.
