CBN Disburses Millions Of Naira To C'River AGSMEIS Beneficiaries, Facilitated By Sen. Gershom Bassey

The Senator representing Cross River South Senatorial District, Sen. Gershom Bassey has facilitated the disbursement of the Agri-Business Small and Medium Enterprises Investment Scheme (AGSMEIS) loans to over 100 members of his constituency who received between N2,000,000 (Two Million Naira) to N10,000,000 (Ten Million Naira) each to enable them grow and enlarge their businesses in the constituency.



AGSMEIS is an initiative of the Bankers' Committee in a bid to support and complement the Federal Governments' efforts at promoting Agri-businesses/Small and Medium Enterprises as a vehicle for sustainable economic development and employment generation.


The Senator said what he is doing is one of his campaign promises to the good people of Cross River South who lined up in the scorching sun to cast their votes for him that earned him the seat as a Senator of the National Assembly from Cross River State.


Gershom mentioned that he has carried out several empowerment programmes to uplift the people and will do more because his focus is the people.


He therefore urged the beneficiaries to use the loans judiciously so as to improve their businesses and better their lot as it will be a continuous process and the second phase will come up in no time.


Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Stella Bassey, Ededm Edem Effiong and Edeh Adaobi thanked Sen. Gershom Bassey for all the empowerment programmes carried out in the constituency, saying the people are feeling the impact of his representation.

C'River State sets aside Jan 27 for Environmental Sanitation Exercise

The Cross River State Government has announced Saturday, January 27, 2024, between the hours of 7 am and 10 am as a day for environmental sanitation exercises across the state. The release signed by the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Environment, Hon. Moses Osogi stipulates that movement of people and vehicles during the period shall be restricted except for those on essential duties.  He urged business owners and residents to partake in the cleaning and evacuation of waste around their surroundings during the hours of sanitation.  The release noted that defaulters shall be charged and tried by Cross River State Mobile Court.  Remember, a clean environment is everyone's business, together let's keep Cross River State Clean, green and serene.
