DG CRSPHCDA Assures Citizens of Improved Healthcare Delivery As Enrollees Set to Enjoy Services

 



The Director General of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency , Dr Janet Ekpenyong has assured Cross Riverians of quality and improved healthcare services as enrollees of the State health insurance scheme will soon begin to enjoy  access to health  services across the state.



The DG was speaking at the Conference Hall of the Cross River State Health Insurance Agency during a capacity building meeting and workshop  organized to boost staff capacity  as well as improve cooperate marketing skills for the scheme which targets all Cross Rivererians in the state.


Dr Ekpenyong noted that, for trust to be established by beneficiaries and to ensure the renewal of services by enrollees, the quality of service among other benefits of the social health scheme remains paramount, an indicator that, the state is enroute it's course to Attaining Universal Health Coverage in the nearest future, hence the need to offer world class services at all times.


"If people can walk into any health facility without facing any financial hardship , with guaranteed quality health delivery, and right attitude to work, the success of the Cross River State Health Insurance Scheme will be one to be reckoned with and that is why, today we have begun upgrading facilities to meet up the pressure which will come with the Commencement of services across the state.


On her remarks, the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Betta Edu praised the state Health Insurance Agency and it's management for the huge successes recorded within it's first month of operation, noting that, the zeal displayed by workers will remain a lasting legacy towards the Attainment of Universal Health Coverage.


Dr Edu urged the workers to use their influence to attract influential citizens into getting their people enrolled to obtain quality and all round available services.


Speaking earlier, the Director General of the Cross River State Health Insurance Scheme, Chief Goddy Iyala gave an overview of the establishment of the state Health Insurance Agency which he said is mandated to provide social health security for less privileged members of the public, ensuring that out of pocket expenses are minimized while seeking medical attention through a contributory platform.


Chief Iyala said, with collaboration with the State Primary Healthcare Agency, the scheme is expected to cover over a million clients  with services ranging from both infectious and non infectious diseases, maternal and neonatal health among other services.


He further thanked the state goveror, Senator Ben Ayade for his deep vision which has translated into a robust venture of which other states are beginning to emulate.


He charged his staff to be innovative in order to attract more clients into patronizing the brand Which he said encompasses  quality and Improved  health for all.


Some of the staff expressed their appreciations to the agency for equipping them with prerequisite knowledge which they say will help them improve on their services and skills.
