An ever compassionate and generous leader, Sen Prof Ben Ayade who has supported many Cross Riverians financially and otherwise to access quality health care services that the ordinary would never have afforded, has again proven his milk of kindness beyond measures. This was captured in a message of gratitude from Mr and Mrs Livinus & Beatrice Adoga Parents of the sick child as they received the financial donation of the Governor from the Commissioner for Health Dr Betta Edu “We are sincerely grateful to H.E Gov Ayade for his kind Support towards baby Awesome's Heart Surgery. We pray God almighty to grant all his Heart desires too in  Jesus name. Amen”

The Governor Sen Ben Ayade has always made his stance on health and health care delivery very clear to everyone. In his words Health comes First, Health comes Second, Health comes Third before anything else. His compassionate antecedents can be traced to his days as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria where he brought both experts to carry out free health outreaches to the unreached and underserved areas in the Northern part of the State. As a Governor, his resolve to fix the health sector and his support to  several families and children too many to count to access quality health care is worthy of note.

The implementation of Ayade Care Health insurance scheme, his over hauling of the General Hospitals, the referral hospitals ongoing  the Pharmaceutical company etc is changing the health sector in CRS. Putting the health care of cross riverians first.

His Excellency's support through a cash donation that ran into millions to sort out the medical bills of one Baby Awesome Iyiowo Adoga has helped to keep her alive. Baby Awesome has been in the Cardiology Unit of Paediatrics Department of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital after she was diagnosed of having two holes in her heart since birth.

Her parents Mr/Mrs Adoga Livinus Agu commended the Governor Sen Prof Ben Ayade for coming to their aid to safe their child. ”Our Governor Sen Prof Ben Ayade has again proven that he's a father to all including the poor. I felt government support is only for the highly connected but I've been proven wrong. As a family we thank and appreciate him for this show of love and to our amiable and kind hearted Commissioner for Health Dr Betta Edu, we truly can't thank her enough as she has stood by us, supported us to facilitate speedy release of funds. She has been a voice so far and indeed we're blessed as a State to have such compassionate leaders. We thank all of them for saving the life of our baby amongst other kids whom we've always seen and heard, we remain grateful”
