AFTERMATH OF RAINSTORM; DEPUTY GOVERNOR ASSURES MINISTRY OF JUSTICE OF IMMEDIATE INTERVENTION

 



Following the aftermath of last Thursday’s rainstorm, the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Professor Ivara Esu has assured the Ministry of Justice of immediate intervention on damages caused by the rainstorm.



The Deputy Governor made this known while inspecting damages at the Ministry of Justice, Calabar on Tuesday, 27th April, 2021. 


Professor Ivara Esu who was visibly sympathetic towards the plight of the Ministry lamented at the level of destruction caused by the rainstorm.


He commended the Commissioner, Ministry of Justice, Mr Tanko Ashang for swinging into action by providing remedial measures, describing him as “proactive.”


He further promised to respond immediately to the plight of the Ministry by rectifying the damages.


Mr Tanko Ashang who thanked the Deputy Governor for his inspection visit appealed for assistance from the State Government as some staff have been displaced from their offices due to the severe damages caused by the rainstorm.


Some of the facilities that need urgent attention are as follows; reroofing of the Ministry of Justice building, restoration of ceiling, painting of the interior and exterior walls of the second floor, electrical works and installation.

C'River State sets aside Jan 27 for Environmental Sanitation Exercise

The Cross River State Government has announced Saturday, January 27, 2024, between the hours of 7 am and 10 am as a day for environmental sanitation exercises across the state. The release signed by the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Environment, Hon. Moses Osogi stipulates that movement of people and vehicles during the period shall be restricted except for those on essential duties.  He urged business owners and residents to partake in the cleaning and evacuation of waste around their surroundings during the hours of sanitation.  The release noted that defaulters shall be charged and tried by Cross River State Mobile Court.  Remember, a clean environment is everyone's business, together let's keep Cross River State Clean, green and serene.
