The Director General Environmental Protection Agency Hon. Erasmus Ekpang has urged Cross Riverians to maintain healthy environment, so as to protect our health, properties and ensure a better Cross River State of our dreams.
DG made the statement in His Press release, where he noted that all trucks conveying stones, sand, goods of any kind and waste must be properly covered to avoid being littered on the roads. Also households are expected to bagged their refuse before disposal.
Ekpang further stated that dumping of Waste from vehicle on major roads are prohibited, if caught both the drivers and the offender would be held responsible and every transporter and households are by this announcement given two weeks to procure waste baskets from the agency office, no 3 Mary slessor road Calabar.
He concluded that surveillance team has been set across the state to monitor, apprehend and enforce the process while defaulters will be penalized/sanction inline with the provision of the Cross River State Environmental Protection law.
