Senator Gershom Bassey Trains and Empowers Women In Cross River South

In a bid to tackle the issue of unemployment and to reinvent creative potentials, the Project Development Institute (PRODA) in collaboration with Trans Afrique Logistics Services Limited organised a two-day Entrepreneurship Development Training for women in Southern Senatorial District, Cross River State. The training is sponsored by Sen. Gershom Bassey.



The training is to enable entrepreneurs access Agro Small and Medium Investment Scheme and other packages.


The training officer, Chris Anyanwu stated that the two-day capacity building training is intended to unlock and reinvent creative potentials and provide another opportunity for entrepreneurs to either start or scale up their existing businesses.


He also mentioned that one of the major problems facing youths in the country was employment, hence the need to train youths on businesses.


“One of the core values of every effective administration is human capital development, which is the foundation of the socioeconomic growth of the state”. He said


Participants during the training showed commitment and readiness to kick start or add to their existing businesses as the training was educative and worth the time.


At the end of the training, the beneficiaries received their certificates and grants as part of their package to help boost their businesses. They also praised the talk-and-do Senator (Gershom Bassey) for his show of love and pray that the almighty God continue to bless him and direct his path.

C'River State sets aside Jan 27 for Environmental Sanitation Exercise

The Cross River State Government has announced Saturday, January 27, 2024, between the hours of 7 am and 10 am as a day for environmental sanitation exercises across the state. The release signed by the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Environment, Hon. Moses Osogi stipulates that movement of people and vehicles during the period shall be restricted except for those on essential duties.  He urged business owners and residents to partake in the cleaning and evacuation of waste around their surroundings during the hours of sanitation.  The release noted that defaulters shall be charged and tried by Cross River State Mobile Court.  Remember, a clean environment is everyone's business, together let's keep Cross River State Clean, green and serene.
